Sandra Chester - the teacher who is
twice as nice will fix your hook or your slice!
My teaching philosophy is to facilitate helping people learn and
understand the game of golf by communicating complex ideas into concepts
that are easy to understand and apply.
I purpose to discover the needs,
motivation and goals (long and short term) of each of my students; to
provide them with a measurable method (plan) designed to most closely
meet those identified goals; to create a positive learning environment
dedicated to maximizing their self image and learning potential; to
educate them on necessary foundational fundamentals, swing essentials,
and cause and effect truths they can rely upon and utilize to self
correct.
I feel each lesson builds upon the last and therefore encourage
my students to provide feedback as to their understanding of the
concepts being taught to insure we are working toward a common goal.
It
is key that my students actively participate in their success through
consistent and structured practice sessions in between lessons.
My goal
is to ultimately create in each individual’s swing an “effortless power”
by maximizing strengths and minimizing weaknesses in the swing. This
will minimize “powerless effort” and the frustrations that result from
poor shot making. I believe in building the swing utilizing the pre
swing fundamentals of grip, alignment, and setup.
I believe in creating
an effective pre shot routine to enable the player to have a systematic
and repeatable method of approaching every shot. Within this routine the
player will develop their mental skills as well as their physical skills
and enhance balance and rhythm that can be translated to the golf
course.
It is my objective to communicate information in a relatable,
retainable, and attainable way; to translate the rules of golf in a
“hands on” practical approach which will increase interest and improve
retention; and impart the passion and love of the game to increase each
players enjoyment and long life in golf.
